Polyvinyl Craftsmen Transmission 35 - Best of 2011

In our second podcast of the festive season we chose some of our favourite tunes we've played in this year's transmissions, invited a few friends along to pick some songs too and all drank far too much. The results are a great batch of songs and some pretty sloppy mic work! It was great fun to make and we only actually remember a lot of it after having listened back with sober heads. Thanks to everyone who came along and joined in the festivities. Download one for yourself here.

A very happy new year to everyone who's dropped by this year to have a listen, hope to see you all again here in 2012.

Here are few new things that have made their way into thee PVC record box this week that you could do worse than lend an ear to.

The first two are both on Trouble In Mind Records, one of the best labels out there at the moment, every release is a winner.

Mikal Cronin - It Is Alright from his S/T LP.

Je M'en Vais - The Limiñanas

For those of you who only know Matt Berry from The Mighty Boosh, IT Crowd and Snuff Box you may be surprised to know that he has a really good LP out on Acid Jazz called Witch Hazel. Saw him do a few songs from it on Tuesday night at Rough Trade and he was ace.

Couldn't find any of the actual songs from this one but have a look anyway. Got "Rhinestone River" by Limes on Goner Records at Rough Trade and it's a really grower. This gives you idea of what to expect.

Check back tomorrow for Transmission 26 where you'll hear some unexpected stuff including a drunken p-funk/jazz odyssey from Miggins. Red wine gets him every time!

Church of Thee PVC

Last week we recorded our first podcast for the GaragePunk Network. They are going to be monthly sermons going out under the monicker "Church of Thee Polyvinyl Craftsmen". Each episode will be an hour long and we'll do our best to make it different to the other podcasts they host. There will still be plenty of the rock 'n' roll noise that they are renowned for but plenty of other stuff too. We don't see the point in just providing them with more of the same.
More info here and here as soon as we have it.
